Nazca Lines and Paracas Peninsula

Gigantic patterns etched into the arid desert plateau.

Nazca Lines and Paracas Peninsula

The Nazca Lines are a UNESCO World Heritage Site where mythical gigantic patterns and shapes, such as hummingbirds, spiders, plants and geometric patterns have been etched into the desert.

With the tallest reaching up to 200 metres in height, the lines are believed to date back to the Nazca Culture that existed circa 400 AD and remain one of the most beguiling mysteries of ancient Peru.
Only visible from the sky, the best way to view the Nazca lines is by plane. Our bilingual guides will join you on your trip and offer you their expert knowledge and opinions on the meanings and origins of these legendary geometric shapes.

The Paracas Peninsula is a coastal location where the cold waters of the Humboldt current converge with warmer tropical currents which, combined with the coastal fog, make this a perfect climate for many species to thrive. Also known as the ‘Galapagos Islands of Peru’, the Paracas Peninsula and the Islas Ballestas nurture a rich bird and marine life, including dolphins, hammerhead sharks, penguins and turtles.
